Cheap Ways to Create 215,000 Jobs

This report from today’s Telegraph chimed with information from the Find it in Sandwell breakfast this morning. Accord, a housing association, let a maintenance contract on terms which included providing both some training places and apprenticeships to local people. This is one of the steps advocated in the report.

Additionally, the Black Country LEP also found that one of the barriers that businesses found to their success is the planning system. This was seen to be too long winded and bureaucratic.

So potentially, the government does not have to find a big pot of money, but only help accelerate work already in train.
