50 Challenges: No 19 – Begin with the End in Mind

“Begin with the End in Mind” is habit 2 of Stephen R Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Having a goal means that you can take steps to get there, and know when you have succeeded. This applies to a life, career, this week or even “by 5 pm”.

The same applies to careers. Ideally you can work out what your ideal career looks like, and fit it together with what it is you want out of life (some compromises may be necessary). That is not always easy, since finding out what your talents are, what jobs are available, and which skills they require can take some trial and error.

As a result, many people end up in a job that is ultimately unsatisfying, often because it was sensible or well paid. Midlife then brings dissatisfaction and a yearning to do something more.

Our Authentic Vocation process takes you step by step through defining your mission in life and finding the career that you desire, which fits your talents and experience. Contact us on 0121 429 8583 to discuss the process further.
